Father John Courtney Murray, SJ (1904–1967)

Murray was one of the best known Catholic priests of the twentieth century. A professor at the Jesuit Woodstock Theological Seminary, his most popular writing was on the compatibility of the American political regime and Catholic theology. He was also influential in the drafting of the Second Vatican Council's decree on religious liberty, Dignitatis Humanae.
