Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha (1656–1680)

"Lily of the Mohawks"

Tekakwitha was born in upstate New York and converted in 1676. She relocated to a Catholic Iroquois community near Montreal in 1677, where she died three years later. She is the first Native American to undergo the process of canonization as a saint.
