Sister M. Madaleva Wolff, CSC (1887–1964)

College President, Literary Critic, Poet

Born in Cumberland, Wisconsin, Madaleva attended St. Mary's College, Indiana, where she joined the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1908. She obtained a doctorate in English, became principal of Sacred Heart Academy in Ogden, Utah, president of St. Mary-of-the-Wasatch College in Salt Lake City in 1925, and then president of her alma mater in 1934.
