Seattle University

Founded 1898

Jesuit Fathers Victor Garrand and Adrian Sweere took over a parish school, Immaculate Conception, in 1891. It was re-chartered as Seattle College in 1898. It became the first co-education Jesuit college in the United States in 1931, and became Seattle University in 1948.
